December Activities

I thought I'd share some of the activities we've been involved in during the holiday season. The kids are havin a great time and enjoying Christmas!

Last Sunday (Dec. 2) we had the hanging of the green at church. Sydney and Josh sang in the youngest choir. The did so well! They were excited about getting to help decorate. They put the pieces of the nativity in the major on the alter.

Ryan also sang. He did great, too. He sang a couple of songs with his choir and then they joined with the next chior up to sing a couple more. They put all of the poinsettas on the alter. We had a little excitement as we were trying to get dressed to go church this night. Our power went out at home so we were searching for clothes in the dark with flashlights! We finally got power back on at about 10:30 pm. I'll have you know...our house it REALLY dark without lights at night! We don't have streetlights or anything on our street...not that they would have been working, but we need to stock up on candles!

Last Monday night we went to Josh's program for his preschool. His class joined with the 4 year-old class to sing at the Festival of Lights at HSU. He did really well. He didn't want to look at me, so I don't have many good picutres of him. He was very serious, so smiles just didn't happen! He had fun though. After his program we headed over to OBU for the Campus Activity Board Christmas party. The kids made gingerbread houses with Katelyn and Felicia, two of our great babysitters. Ryan won a cake in the cakewalk!

Saturday, we went to breakfast with Santa. Everyone got to put in their requests with Mr. and Mrs. Calus. Josh sat in his lap for the first timme. I think his fear of not actuall getting the Polar Express Train from Santa exceeded his fear of sitting with him!
The kids have a couple more weeks of school. Casey is giving his finals this week. We are SO glad this semester is over!
